MY TAKE ON SARAH PALIN
By Alaska U.S. Senate Candidate Ted Gianoutsos, Dec. 1, 09.
As I campaign to open ANWR and for veterans, people ask me every day about my take on Sarah. The short answer is that I like Sarah; I helped to elect her Governor of Alaska, and I think that she will be elected president in 2012.
The intellectual elitists ridicule and grossly underestimate Sarah because she is not one of them and they don't want to acknowledge her appeal. Sarah connects! As a commonsense average American myself, I understand Sarah very well.
I was a candidate in the 2006 Alaska gubernatorial election. I watched Sarah, up close and personal, easily beat both Republican 22-year Senator and 4-year sitting-Governor Frank Murkowski - as well as Democrat 8-year former-Governor Tony Knowles. A mere two years later in 2008, she came close to winning the vice-presidency.
I endorsed Sarah during the last week of the 2006 gubernatorial campaign because of ANWR and veterans. For a combined total of 32 years, Murkowski and Knowles failed to open ANWR and made but token gestures for veterans - even though they themselves are veterans. Sarah, on the other hand, really wants to open ANWR and better appreciates veterans' service to our country.
Sarah earned my support in 2006, and she still has it today. I wish her well and God's speed!
